1961 1000 Kronur from Iceland. Central Bank of Iceland. Pk 46s and serial number EA100001 EA900000 12345. Specimen banknote graded 64 Choice Uncirculated by PCGS. PMG Population Report shows that both grading services have yet to see this note in gem condition, making this note one of three known in 64 with none graded finer! An absolute beauty displaying well embossed surfaces on crisp, bright paper! Although it has endured light circulation, this rare banknote remains in very well-condition! The word "SPECIMEN" is perforated towards the bottom. Jon Sigurthsson at right, building at lower center. Rock formations on the reverse side. Watermark of S. Bjornsson. Jón Sigurðsson was the leader of the 19th century Icelandic independence movement.
