Amazing set of four notes sequentially numbered. 1939-1945 100 Francs from Algeria, Banque de L'Algerie. Pick # 85 and sequential serial #s Z.2158 020, Z.2158 021, Z.2158 022 ad.2158 023. All notes are graded Superb Gem Uncirculated with Exceptional Paper Quality. 

We have assembled this set 2 notes at a time, we found serial # 020 and 021 in one paper money show and luckily 2 months later we found serial numbers 022 and 023. We would consider selling the notes individually but ideally the 4 sisters should stay together as we are sure this would forever remain it only set of 4 notes sequentially numbered certified 67 EPQ. The paper on all the notes are crisp white a note full of perfection, wide margins and deep embossing seen through the plastic holder. Serial Number is on front of the note. 3 Signatures Varieties. With title " BANQUE DE L'ALGERIE" A combination of colors. Blue and Multicolored. Algerian with turban at left. Back: Plowing with oxen at center. Watermark: Woman's head.

The Banque d'Algérie introduced its first notes in 1861. Denominations of five, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 francs were introduced by 1873, although the 10-franc note was only issued in 1871. In 1944, notes were issued in the name of the Region Economique d'Algérie in denominations of 50 centimes, one and two francs. The Bank of Algeria introduced notes worth 10,000 francs and 5,000 francs in 1945 and 1946, respectively.

In 1949, the Banque d'Algérie et de la Tunisie commenced banknote issue, with denominations of 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000 francs. These notes were overprinted with denominations of five, 10, 50 and 100 new francs in 1960. The Bank of Algeria resumed note production with the introduction of the new franc and produced a final series of notes for five, 10, 50 and 100 new francs until 1961.
