1939 50 Lire from Italian East Africa / Italian Occupation WWII. Pick # 1b and serial number F51 0574. PMG note graded 40 Extremely Fine by PMG. PMG has only seen 12 notes, however there are no known uncirculated notes recorded with only 1 AU50 certified. The listed note here is the second finest with no rips, tears or pinholes. PMG noted for accuracy of the fiber minor paper pull, but ever under a lupe we fail to see what is in question. Green on light green underprint. Head of Italia seal at right. Back: blue-green. Statue of she-wolf with Romulus and Remus at center. Overprint: SERIE SPECIALE AFRICA ORIENTALE ITALIANA. Watermark: man's head facing right.
