Simply wonderful banknote with features supporting the superb gem status received. Perfect margins on crisp, well-embossed paper! The colors are bright! Black and red serial number seen on the front of the note. The words "MUESTRA SIN VALOR" printed in bold black color on both sides. Arms at upper left. Latent image (silver oval) at upper right with letters B/CU. José Pedro Varela at center right. José Pedro Varela y Berro was a Uruguayan sociologist, journalist, politician, and educator. He was born in Montevideo. Uruguay adopted free, compulsory, and secular education in 1876, thanks to the his efforts. Series A. Signature titles: Gerente General, Secretario General, Presidente.
