1989 1000 Nuevo Peso from Uruguay. Banco Central. Pk 67A and serial number A-00005317. Graded 66 Premium Paper Quality Gem New by PCGS with none finer graded according to PMG Population Report! Such a lovely specimen banknote with great bright bold colors appealing to the eyes, good embossing and nearly perfect margins are seen throughout the banknote. Serial number located in black and red on the front of the note and J.G. Artigas is seen on the watermark. The word "NO EMITIDO" printed in large bold blue letters on the front of the note. Amazing designs all over the note! Pedro Figari is seen on the front of the note! Pedro Figari at right. Allegory of Music on the reverse. Pedro Figari was a Uruguayan painter, lawyer, writer, and politician. Although he did not begin the practice until his later years, he is best known as an early modernist painter who emphasized capturing the everyday aspects of life in his work.
